The Steering Committee for the Establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA) recently had a working session with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Home Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City to review, consult, and finalize the dossier for establishing the Association.
The meeting focused on legal requirements, organizational procedures, and the operational orientation of the Association, ensuring full compliance with the regulations of Decree 126/2024/ND-CP.
At the meeting, Mr. Đinh Hồng Kỳ — representative of the Steering Committee for the Establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association — presented the goals and vision of the Association, emphasizing the role of the organization in promoting sustainable development, supporting businesses to build green economic models and minimize environmental impact. The mission of the Association is to become a platform connecting businesses, jointly developing innovative solutions to contribute to the protection of natural resources and improving the quality of life in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, regulatory agencies contributed many important opinions to complete the dossier for establishment. The Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Home Affairs requested the Steering Committee to supplement necessary documents, including the lease contract for office premises, initial financial declarations, and operating regulations suitable for the local scope. At the same time, members of the Steering Committee must meet all legal criteria such as permanent residence in Ho Chi Minh City and no legal violations.
Additionally, the Department of Industry and Trade specifically noted that the list of members should prioritize businesses aiming for sustainable development, to ensure strong representation for the Association’s goals. The regulations in the Association’s charter should clearly specify members’ responsibilities and rights, while also guiding specific activities to support businesses in implementing green transformation.
The Steering Committee is tasked with reviewing, revising the dossier, and resubmitting it as soon as possible to ensure the timeline for establishing the Association. It is expected that after approval, the founding congress will be held within 60 days, officially launching HGBA’s activities.
The establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association is expected to be an important milestone in the journey to promote sustainable development in Ho Chi Minh City. With support from regulatory agencies and the unity of the business community, the Association will not only be a representative organization but also a driving force to help the city advance further on the path of green economy, environmental protection, and improving the quality of life of its people.
