(Chinhphu.vn) – On the afternoon of June 10, 2025, the Founding Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association (HGBA) for the first term (2025–2030) officially announced the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City Green Business Association, marking the birth of a pioneering organization to promote a green, sustainable and socially responsible development model in the Vietnamese business community.
The HGBA will focus on pioneering programs in promoting environmental protection and sustainable development activities nationwide. HGBA is shaped not as an administrative organization, but as a network of action connections, where big business leads small businesses, where green knowledge and solutions are spread, where each member can start or accelerate the journey of sustainable transformation.
Accordingly, HGBA will operate on the basis of 4 core values: Harmony in the spirit of cooperation and development; commitment to development for the environment and the community; the courage to innovate, pioneer action and progress in green solutions and technologies.
HGBA will be a bridge to accompany member businesses in improving competitiveness, technological innovation, access to green finance, and integration with global standards. At the same time, the Association will act as a policy partner, reflect on reality and propose practical support mechanisms for businesses in the greening process.
The birth of HGBA is a practical action that contributes to the realization of Vietnam’s commitment at COP26 to net zero emissions by 2050. This is also a strategic step to help Vietnamese businesses quickly adapt to the trend of the green economy, enhancing the country’s position and value in the international market.
At the meeting, Mr. Dinh Hong Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Secoin Joint Stock Company was elected as Chairman of HGBA for the first term. As a person who has many initiatives in the development of green materials and made outstanding contributions to the business community, Mr. Dinh Hong Ky is expected to lead HGBA to become the nucleus of the green transformation process in Ho Chi Minh City and also water.
HGBA not only starts the green journey of Ho Chi Minh City businesses, but also opens up opportunities for extensive cooperation at home and abroad – in order to jointly create a prosperous, fair and sustainable future for future generations.
Within the framework of the Congress, the Symposium program attracted special attention from the business community and professionals. Domestic and international speakers discussed new trends, opportunities and challenges in green transformation – especially in the context of global supply chains and consumer markets increasingly tightening ESG standards.
