The Vietnamese government has shown strong determination, from its commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 at COP26, to building a carbon market, as well as participating in the US$15.5 billion Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). However, the gap from commitment to action is still huge, and businesses are the pioneering force to turn the vision into reality.
Mr. Ky said that green transformation cannot be a single effort but requires the companionship of the State – Businesses – the Community. But above all, it requires a shift in thinking, from “wanting to be green but still thinking brown” to taking substantive and drastic action.
“We need to consider green investment not as a cost, but as an added value, a new competitiveness, and a legacy for future generations. With the guidance of brave businesses and commitment from the community, HGBA will become the nucleus of green transformation not only in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City nationwide,” Mr. Ky expressed.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), highly appreciated the fact that the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
